Sandpoint, Idaho was recently called a “Dream Town” by Outside Magazine and one of America’s top 10 Adventure Towns by National Geographic Adventure.
Visit Caribou Mountain Lodge and see for yourself. The lodge sits at 5000′ elevation on a ridge between the Caribou and Berry Creek drainages. The view from the lodge is breathtaking. You can look north up the Pack River to the crest of the Selkirks and to the south lies Lake Pend Oreille.
Because it is located in the backcountry, access varies with the time of year. In summer and fall, it is possible to drive to the lodge in a high clearance or 4-wheel drive vehicle.
During the winter months, access is by ski-in only. The trip in is about seven miles and usually takes about 3 hours. An incoming group will be met at the trailhead. Personal gear, food and beverages will be carried in on a snow machine.
See Booking page for more information on packing for the lodge.
